RULES (updated 01/22/25)

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling. To be concise, disrespect is defined by escalation.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible. You won't be punished for trying.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (politics or societal debates come to mind, though we are not saying not to talk about anything that resembles these). There's a guide in the protocol book offered as a mod model that can be used for that; it's vague until you realize it was made for things like the rule in question. At least four purple answers must apply to a "controversial" message for it to be allowed.
  4. Keep it clean and SFW: No illegal content or anything gross and inappropriate. A rule of thumb is if a recording of a conversation put on another platform would get someone a COPPA violation response, that exact exchange should be avoided when possible.
  5. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc. The chart redirected to above applies to spam material as well, which is one of the reasons its wording is vague, as it applies to a few things. Again, a "spammy" message must be applicable to four purple answers before it's allowed.
  6. Respect privacy as well as truth: Don’t ask for or share any personal information or slander anyone. A rule of thumb is if something is enough info to go by that it "would be a copyright violation if the info was art" as another group put it, or that it alone can be used to narrow someone down to 150 physical humans (Dunbar's Number) or less, it's considered an excess breach of privacy. Slander is defined by intentional utilitarian misguidance at the expense (positive or negative) of a sentient entity. This often links back to or mixes with rule one, which implies, for example, that even something that is true can still amount to what slander is trying to achieve, and that will be looked down upon.

Effing excellent. Having a gaming-marathon with wifey like 10hrs a day lol. 2nd week now, 3 games to go... Only pausing it for food, gym and...err...special time 😁

We're role-model-adults. Or something like that 😊

I think this has quite literally been one of the worst weeks of my life. lol

But I'm coming out the other side.

Is there some English word for "Ok so far, but I expect a huge pile of problems in the nearest days that will last for years. And while those problems are avoidable, I don't avoid them because of the chance of them leading to something good"?

Feel like elaborating? Sounds like there's something to tell there

Just life: I'm from Ukraine so finding a job by my specialty is difficult, so I have found a job at a local factory. Job is far from my dreams and the salary is just enough to keep me alive. But there is a perspective of a more interesting position in this factory after a few months of working as a machine operator.

Pros:

-Roof repairs almost finished (but it just started raining dammit)

-Got Tempest Rising & Oblivion remastered, two shadow drops of highly anticipated games

-Ordered a new videocard because my six-year old one can't chug it no more.

Cons:

-Ran out of weed, will have to wait until next week for a fillup

-Work is boring, as always

All in all, not too shabby.

Ok so far. School's started again which I'm not thrilled about, really. I got to SLP school and went to an apprenticeship for four weeks and had three weeks of a semester break afterwards. Three weeks is pretty much the longest time off I've had since I started the apprenticeship, so it felt really good to have some time off, but I don't really feel all that relaxed.

The stress of filling out our schedules with new patients has immediately kicked in in class, which I'm usually not that affected by but certainly has its toll on me. Our final exam next year is stressing people out, exams that are due soon are stressing people out even more. It's difficult to tune things out for oneself, but I'm doing what I can to not let things get to me too much.

Thjngs could be worse for sure, though.
