Shitty journalism
When you click the link to the study, it says the fungus is only found in a small area, which is set to double, by 2100!
Plus the vast majority of people exhibit no symptoms, which is set to increase by 50%, 70 years from now
Scaremongering, please don't link crap like that, take it to Reddit
I disagree that this is scaremongering. It's a real thing that's happening. Just because it's on long timescale and affects relatively few people doesn't mean it's not worth studying and developing effective treatments.
If anything the headline is maybe a little bit clickbait-y, but the article and video are – while obviously not primary sources – fairly measured in their portrayal, and the video even includes discussion from (folks who are presumably) experts in the field.

Sorry, I didn't think it was clickbaity scaremongering. I know Vox is not exactly a science publication, but it didn't seem over the top to me.
Anyway I apologize, I won't post a source like this in future.

I thought this was an interesting article! And I also think Vox media take reasonable care on their reporting.
While the headline is a bit clickbait-y, I think it’s something to be shared and discussed, keep posting cool articles OP. :)
