It's kinda messed up when you think about it that the current ruling party in Italy is more or less a direct successor to the fascist party, like right down to stealing the logo of the Italian social movement (A movement the current prime minister was part of, a movement which openly proclaimed its fascism), and yet they get to call themselves centre right etc, a designation that the press run with and respect. The term "far right" and to an extent even "right wing" exists solely as a designator for things not in power.

imma rant a little, but native (or whatever it's called when hosts of podcasts/videos read an ad) ads annoy the shit out of me, cause the hosts are lying for money (which makes all following information sus). i know it's a perceived childish point of view, but i really don't think it is. i'm not that annoyed with actors or in scene movie adverts (they are usually funny if they are bad, like james bond ka-ching moments, or just whatever), even if they work, cause i don't expect truth from actors

I like to think of tankies as Anakin Skywalker in that scene on the Grass with Padme. Anakin is gently explaining his hopes for the future, the wonderful world he wants to build, but when asked if people disagree he says “then they’ll be made to”, revealing his authoritarian streak. To anakin, like the tankie, seems obvious that an ultimate authority is necessary to shepherd the people into their eventual utopia, by force if necessary.

Doubt the critics came out with the idea that Batman was the villain all along even though it’s kinda spelled out pretty blatantly. I guess it’s basically in the title too, “Dark Knight.” Still though, I can imagine the convos when this movie came out being extremely nauseating to someone with a left worldview (especially with the surveillance mechanism used in the end)
