I think lemmings is the best one. Lemmings are cute.

I don't know about that. Calling someone a lemming is usually a bad thing.

Even without looking at the comments, Lemmings came to my mind. It is such a great name. β™₯️

I like "Lemmings" personally. Just a big fan of the video game.

[–] Drift@mander.xyz 3 points 2 years ago

Yeah, I saw a older post with same "Lemmings" recommendation.

[–] Mane25@feddit.uk 21 points 2 years ago

Most of the people I've met on here and asked are going with lemmings. That's fine by me, it's cute enough and it works.

When life gives you lemmings…

[–] hakase@lemmy.ml 7 points 2 years ago

... you yeet them off a cliff in your "documentary"?

[–] zerbey@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Yes, I approve.

Lemmy users

Maybe an unpopular opinion but having a name for a Lemmy user is cringe.

What are you gonna ask someone at a party if they're a lemming? They're gonna look at you like wtf are you talking about.

It has big "the narwhal bacons at midnight" vibes.

[–] NENathaniel@vlemmy.net 1 points 2 years ago

I've never been asked at a party if I'm a Redditor lol. I think that's just a context issue

[–] lewegee 1 points 2 years ago

This. The circlejerkers haven't moved over yet. Let's keep it that way.

[–] matt@lemmy.piperservers.net 3 points 2 years ago

For Lemmy users specifically, I believe Lemmings has been widely accepted. However, when referring to a user of federated software in general (remember they can potentially communicate with other federated software), we could refer to each other as "Fedizens" of the "Fediverse". I have seen a developer use the term "Fedizen" in one of their code examples, and I like it as a more inclusive name.

I always just say "I'm on Lemmy/I'm a Lemmy user". People who use Google also aren't a "Googler" or something 🫠.

I guess I'm no fun at parties...

[–] CeruleanRuin@lemmy.one 2 points 2 years ago

I usually like to use a person's name.

[–] CerpinTaxt@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago

I vote we call ourselves Lemmiwinks.

[–] Fleppensteijn 1 points 2 years ago

I dunno. I haven't seen anything quasi official

Lemmurs, lemmings, lemmurians, lemmons, and feds have all been used that I've seen. Feds from fediverse, though that was a joke when it was used
