No book reader here. Show was good 4/5. At times too slow. I think 6-8 episodes would be better. I hope the second seasons gives more information.

Generally loved it. The set design felt really lived in with some weird alt Soviet vibes.

Yes! It was good. My partner didn’t expect the twist, but also I had to fill in what wasn’t explicitly said about the camera cleaning and the vision of the world people had when they were sent out to clean. What was the significance of the badge at the end?
I read the first book probably around the time it came out and liked it. I planned to read the rest of the series, but forgot about it until the TV show. I’m excited about the next season. There was enough differences between the first book and the first season that I feel like it’s okay to read the next books while I wait for the season.
