It's useful for home design ideas. I have board for different parts of the house. Makes it easier to communicate ideas with my partner so we are aligned
Sounds like any "visual bookmarking" tool would work for that. You could check out https://www.pearltrees.com/ for example (France).
it seems to be focused more on personal stuff, i want something more social.
Not gonna lie i think activitypub based alternative could be cool
Ah I see, I thought it was about sharing stuff with your partner. No idea then. :/
EDIT: Oh I just realized the person I replied to wasn't you, nevermind then. :)
yes i have similar hobby-focused usage
Always wondered this too! It's more of annoyance really cause it always shows up in image searches but then you can't download the full size image without getting an account, I've actually been looking for ways to block that page in my search results.
Following for suggestions as well
Have you tried Splinter?
can u send a link? i tried searching but didnt find anything relevant
You've never heard of Splinter? Those little pieces of wood that get stuck in your skin? Need to use tweezers, maybe a needle to get them out?
Much more useful than Pinterest.
