Not sure if questions are allowed here, but reading the lastest job reports I saw that the US added jobs in the government sector for February 2025. Given all the layoffs due to DOGE I would have expected a negative number.

Is there just a lag in reporting or am I missing something?

I belive that data is from the middle of the month before the firings started.

Yeah I think I read something about February 12th. I'm not super familiar with how they collect the data and wouldn't be surprised that it's a lagging indicator.

I was just expecting numbers to be bad, given the federal layoffs so was surprised to read they were generally good.
