Many people think of A&W as an American chain, but they have been separate companies for many decades. More to the point, they have been an actual Canadian company since 1995.

That’s true but unfortunately they do union busting.

But their retail rootbeer is made/sold by Coke so in store/other restaurants is different than in restaurant

Unfortunately, their food is super unhealthy and not even that cheap compared to local restaurants.

Well, that's a bit apples and oranges. Local is usually > any corporate chain. And if you care about eating health, maybe avoid fast food of any kind.

That's a fair point but assuming tariffs do happen people will be hurting money-wise and your local Shwarma hut will always be much more reasonable than A&W while being owned and the profits going to benefit extremely local people.

I wouldn’t compare their food with anything else than another burger joint, which, even local, isn’t any healthier.
