Political meme belongs in the political memes community, friend.

[–] Facebones@reddthat.com 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Thankee Sai. It seems I can't open lemmy now without a sea of righties airing their grievances against Obama and Hillary under the guise of "memes"

[–] Diabolo96@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I didn't see it as a right wing meme. I read it as her saying bullshit patriotic speech and trump being to dumb to understand her.

[–] neera_tanden@hexbear.net -5 points 2 years ago (2 children)

What sort of memes community is this then?

[–] Diabolo96@lemmy.dbzer0.com 20 points 2 years ago (1 children)

General memes. Political memes are very specific and often USA centric so not everyone can understand and/or really care about them let alone laugh reading them.

[–] neera_tanden@hexbear.net -2 points 2 years ago (4 children)

Fair enough… but… Hillary Clinton is more than a political meme. She’s more than a president. Maybe she is an idea, a world-historical heroine, light itself.

[–] sederx@programming.dev 8 points 2 years ago

Only republicans ever gave a shit about Hillary.

[–] Diabolo96@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 years ago

Okey, not gonna lie here. That was one funny read. But you can change her name with Ellen Degeneres and it still mostly work as a crazy groupie love letter.

[–] ikiru@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 years ago

That was sarcasm, right?

I'm almost certain it was written ironically, but Hillary supporters can be so insane that I can't even tell the difference.

I tried to read this article but I teared up too much and I couldn't see to be able to keep on reading.

If Yoko Ono were still alive she'd write an song with an odious, racially-charged comparison between Hillary and black people and everyone around the world would come together every year on November 9th to listen to this song and to mourn our collective loss.

[–] neera_tanden@hexbear.net 1 points 2 years ago

Wow, thank you, I wish more people could understand

[–] 10_0@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 years ago

Not political memes

Are Republicans STILL whining about Hillary? You wanna talk about rent-free, man. That woman doesn't just live in your minds, you've given her acres and acres of free mental real estate.

[–] brain_in_a_box@hexbear.net -1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I see more Dems whining about Hillary losing, to be honest.

[–] Hyggyldy@sffa.community 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Were you able to type that without laughing?

[–] brain_in_a_box@hexbear.net -1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

No, the Dems still being bitter about Hilary losing is very funny.

[–] Hyggyldy@sffa.community 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Okay buddy. Whatever you gotta tell yourself. Why don't you go enjoy some buttery males?

[–] brain_in_a_box@hexbear.net 0 points 2 years ago (1 children)

buttery males?

Hahah, there it is. 7 years on and you're still salty about it.

[–] Hyggyldy@sffa.community 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It's the shit you clowns have been whining about. It's your thing. Sad that you can't even own it. But then find me a Republican who's honest and consistent and I'll find Santa.

[–] brain_in_a_box@hexbear.net 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Hahahah, you think I'm a Republican?

Mate, you're way off.

[–] Hyggyldy@sffa.community 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Doesn't matter what you call yourself, you're still singing the same song.

[–] brain_in_a_box@hexbear.net 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The song of Militant LGBT rights (with particular emphasis on trans rights), radical economic restructuring to reduce economic inequality, a massive reduction in military budget, foreign aggression, and general militarism, the defunding of police to be replaced with better social services, the decolonization and uplift of the global south, the destruction of the capital class and the abolition of traditional gender roles? Please tell me about these republicans singing that song, they sound awesome.

[–] Hyggyldy@sffa.community 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I mean now it just seems like you're trolling. Literally the only time I see Hillary come up these days is in right wing memes and whining. Maybe we just live in different dimensions.

[–] brain_in_a_box@hexbear.net 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Maybe we do live in different dimensions, in terms of media ecosystems. I don't see her come up that often, but when I do, it's usually bitter liberals re-litigating 2016. That said, I probably don't look in many spaces populated by MAGA chuds.

[–] Hyggyldy@sffa.community 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Sorry if you get a double reply, I wanted to confirm what I said. But yeah, on Sep. 2nd retired general and 24th national security advisor for the president, Mike Flynn, was on Infowars claiming Liberals planned to have 8 years of Obama followed by 8 of Hillary.

[–] Facebones@reddthat.com 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You're literally whining about her, right here. Right now.

[–] Jerrimu2@startrek.website 2 points 2 years ago

I’m wither

[–] Facebones@reddthat.com 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I'm just here for the sea of "It's the Dems that are still crying about Hillary, not us"

Never mind reality where she lost the primary HARD but the DNC just didn't give a fuck. It just doesn't fit the rights little pornworld.

[–] Cleverdawny@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

She didn't lose the primary. More people supported and voted for her constantly from day one of the primary to the day it ended.

I caucused for Bernie but this reality denial shit is lame as fuck. Progressives need to be able to understand that in an ideologically diverse coalition, not everyone is going to agree with them, and that's the will of the voters, not corruption.

[–] Facebones@reddthat.com -3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

"I caucused for Bernie but I fucking hate progressives and everything they're about"

Cool story bro, just because you're on the internet doesn't mean you HAVE to lie. You can just openly say you hate progressives without this whole "trying to avoid the stigma of being a Republican" garbage.

Uder history confirms 😂

[–] Cleverdawny@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

I've been disillusioned from the progressive movement largely because of the institutional inability in many of the prog organizations to deal with reality.

Lying and claiming I hate progressives is a good example of the kind of self defeating, toxic anti-intellectual verbal masturbation that drives me away. I'd rather deal with someone who I disagree with than an angry child like you who can't have a productive conversation with another human being.

[–] dan1101@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

I thought there were a lot of deplorables. That's not good.
