Sorry for the split post. It looks like there is a post character limit that is smaller than Reddit's.

edit: pratona indicates it's 10k characters (Reddit is 40k), though I was hitting a limit somewhere between 8k and 8.5k, perhaps due to table or symbols converted to html entity numbers or non-latin characters.
