Just got a new work phone: Galaxy S22. Wanted a pixel but it was out of stock in our internal allocation. Already tired of samsung's UI and interested in something new.

So what do you like? Bonus points if it works with android enterprise's profile mode dual app drawers.

I use the KISS launcher. It's on both Play Store and F-Droid.

Stupid simple and really nice looking imo

The screenshots look kinda outdated, how themeable is it? the global search looks great

Despite the privacy issues after the buyout, I'm still using Nova Launcher.

On the work phone I'm using the Microsoft one and it's surprisingly good too. It's not quite as customisable as Nova but it does a fair amount as well. I like the configurable leftmost screen, it's like a powered up widget viewer.

What happened to Nova? I didn't see anything

Been using the Microsoft launcher for years after leaving Nova and have to say I've been surprisingly pleased with it.

Two bits of info I wasn't aware of! Going to check out MS!

I have been using Niagara for a couple of years now, and I have absolutely fallen in love with it since.

I've been using smart-launcher for years now, and it's what I'm used to, gestures and a nice app menu that automtically categorises applications is nice.

[–] thecdc1995@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Seconding Smart Launcher. Automatic categorization beats pretty much every other feature I can think of in a launcher.

I try to treat my devices as commitments as far as spending but disposable as far as usage habits and not having invent my own categories helps me just USE my phone instead of playing with it.

Smart launcher for me. The automatic app sorting along with its ambient theme is super awesome. Highly recommend it.

Using Nova Prime since many years now. Very satisfied, never felt the need to use anything else

I use neolauncher Not quite nova but okay once you set it up

You can grab it on fdroid or directly on GitHub https://github.com/NeoApplications/Neo-Launcher

Ratio Launcher ! Nothing compares, i always end up going back to it . Not most customizable but it being well designed more than makes up for it . I hope they open source it

[–] Double_A@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

I always end up sticking with the stock one. It's usually the only one where widgets work properly.

[–] Solo@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I use productivity launcher. Its very barebones, works well, quick access to my apps and it's not bright and colorful so my phone is a little less appealing to look at and might reduce my screen time a tiny bit.

I use ADW because when I switched phones my new version of Android didn't have the carousel home screen and it was the first one I found 😅

[–] Meruten@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 years ago

I have an S22+ and I've been using one UI for years now. What do you find inadequate about it if you don't mind my asking?

I have found samsung's software to be the most feature complete android experience so far.

[–] conrad82@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I use Kvaesitso, and have used it for a while now. I like it! https://kvaesitso.mm20.de/

I don't think it gets bonus points though

[–] lysozyme@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

I second Kvaesitso! It takes a while to get used to since it is not home screen based, but it is super quick plus the major advantage over KISS launcher, you can add widgets 👍

Since gestures don't work with 3rd party launchers, I am stuck with the default one. Hope Google fixes this issue.

SimpleLauncher. Does everything I need it to and nothing more.

[–] the16bitgamer@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Neo Launcher, it's the closest think to Nova, but there is still a lot of bugs.

before I got a pixel I used Action Launcher to have a clean, stock-enough, look no idea if it's still getting any updates but it would still be my go-to anyday

[–] Reygle@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

None since Nova went and got telemetry'd up.
