So they keep track of your heart rate, location, and schedule, got your thumb print years ago, scanned your face, can predict your choice in words, and will soon replicate your voice. Nothing nefarious, no reason to worry.

I have the beta, the model is generated over night locally on your own phone and stored there. It doesn’t need internet connection to create. In fact I didn’t have network connection when I tested it in beta.

Installed the iOS 17 Beta to try this, the option is not there. Not sure what they're talking about. There's no option underneath "Live Speech" in the Accessibility menu.

Ah, the article really should have specified that this is only available on certain hardware, and not all iPhones.
