In between jobs again recently and as usual everytime this happens my stepdad rips into me every chance he gets about having "no money and no job"

Among other things like calling me a parasite or whatever.

Go into mental health treatment soon and that cant come soon enough to get away from this crap.

You don't have any control of what your asshole of a stepdad says to you. But you can develop control over what he makes you feel over time

I'm not sure you're looking for advices, but I'll give you one anyways; don't confront him, be on your own, and meanwhile try your best to get a job so you can safely live away from this piece of shit

Yeah I need to get out of here quick. He makes me feel worthless and like I'm not wanted. My puts up with and excuses a lot of it for God knows what reason

People project their fears and themselves onto others. Also, sounds like there's some unhealthy competition for your mom's attention.

I'd try to bring that calmly to her attention too, and have open lines of communication with her. Maybe mental abuse doesn't only go towards you, it's important that you support each other there I think.

Good luck!

Put this on and pretend you are working from home (it works with your webcam): https://benjamin-brady.github.io/gitlab-simulator

Not sure if this would help for long, but I hope the idea of it gives you a giggle. :)

I wish you luck on finding the means to another salary so you can escape your toxic stepfather.
