Lucas reflected on his life in work in a wide-ranging chat in Cannes, where he received and honorary Palm d'Or.

Considering that Disney said none of the EU content other than the cartoons they did before the buyout was canon the moment they bought LucasFilm, I would have to agree. Though I wouldn't say it was lost. Shit was straight up thrown in the garbage.
