Too bad there isn't a precedent set of a party completely flipping the entire US southeast in modern history, otherwise they would have to consider it something within the realm of possibility and have to believe in themselves.
yeah it's not like that happened in living memory of 1/6th of americans and the majority of people in congress or anything. That'd be crazy.
