hes one of those rare libertarians who is actually in the ideology for the social and civil reasons and seems ambivalent to the economic stuff (yes there are some principled libertarians out there, i guess edward snowden is one)
he'd probably be happy with full economic socialism as long as there was a "civil libertarian" society underpinning it. might be why he is intrigued by Castro but i dunno. and it's not much different from most americans probably if you distilled their beliefs in a way that separated them from bourgeois politics and just ask them what they actually want, which would be some variety of economic socialism/social democracy with "live let live everyone do what makes them happy don't bother me"
