Sorry, a bit off topic, but. Why is the btc community so weak on the fediverse?
I would think that the decentralization and self hosting would resonate with bitcoiners!
Every bitcoin post in this community keeps getting downvoted. I try hard to engage and upvote, but seems like nobody is here
One thing I’ve learned about the Fedivererse, which I have thoroughly enjoyed using for over a year now, is that there are jihadist groups against Bitcoin, crypto, and the Brave browser—probably other subjects that I am aware of. Even trying to bring up sensible points, perspectives, and…facts on those three subjects can incur wrath from a digital mob. It’s too bad really because as you alluded to, the values of the Fediverse are analogous to the values of Bitcoin.
because the people who use the fed-a-verse appear to like decentralization in some ways and absolutely hate decentralization in other ways. A good way to get downvoted to oblivion is to bring up sensible topics about cryptocurrency like I have.
True it's sad. I think nostr is preferred by crypto enthusiasts instead of activitypub. I still have to check it tho
I have one foot in Fediverse and another in Nostr. I get more from Mastodon and Lenny at this point than Nostr but I completely appreciate what Nostr is bringing to the table. I hope it continues to mature. The better these options can be means the faster society can move away from centralized, corporate social media.
