reddit has 55+ million daily active users, just some food for thought

It's also been around for like 18 years... It's legally an adult.

Kbin has been active for about 2 weeks. 57k signups in 2 weeks, and 3.3k since yesterday, is a pretty incredible clip of new users.

Quality over quantity. Glad to be here!

That's true, but I would just point out that the nice thing is you are not limited to kbin. I found the United Kingdom community on the Lemmy 'Feddit' instance. There isn't a United Kingdom magazine here, so I just subscribed to the Feddit one, via Kbin. Seems to be working pretty seamlessly.

You don't need that many active users for a rich and engaging community. I also don't believe kbin will or should replace reddit. But it's a great alternative for those that don't like the way things are going on reddit.

Reddit's glory days are over and it's nothing but blue skies ahead for the verse.

I started using Reddit when it was one page, and spez was submitting a substantial amount of the content. It was much smaller and less-developed than the Fediverse is now. Around that time, MySpace was the website seeing the most usage in the US.
