Dude wasted 4 days being angry and thinks he won.

[–] TurboDiesel@lemmy.world 69 points 1 year ago (1 children)

IDK if it's a dude; girls will do some absolutely sociopathic shit to each other when they're crossed

I don't know, kind of sounds like they learned something and that's a win.

Sometimes indignation can lead to amazing things, somebody told me in 2000 that I couldn't make a 3D game for the web using 2D software and I felt so challenged and pissed-off I actually programmed a 3D rendering engine using that tool so I could make a virtua tennis style game playable on the web.

A world first out of spite.

Edit: In case anybody cares the tool was Macromedia Director which was a 2D raster authoring tool that you could use to make Shockwave games. And the feature that came out in (I think) patch 6.5 made 2D sprite skewing a thing which enabled me to make this!

[–] gummybootpiloot@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Did they learn something? It's 4 days later, the girl probably doesn't realize the two events are related

[–] Krudler@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Yes, they taught themselves the subject matter.

Imagine sitting through class presentations and some incel tries to bully a girl, badgering her with questions and a “this is common knowledge” attitude all because he is so fucked in the head he thought she was mocking him.

[–] gjoel@lemmy.ml -1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Now imagine a girl doing the same and you won't think twice about it.

[–] fushuan@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

What? Of course I would. Assholes asking questions the presenter clearly wasn't prepared to answer with an assholeish attitude suck regardless of gender.

[–] chicken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 20 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Better than wasting years being angry about it wishing you did something at the time

[–] suodrazah@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

I prefer the third option.

[–] chicken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 year ago

I feel like if that comes easily to someone, it's a kind of privilege. Pretty normal human thing to get hung up on petty insults, especially if someone is not in a position to be very self assured. Maybe there are better ways of dealing with it though.

Also, they are still dwelling on it after leaving college. I guarantee that it didn't go down like they say and there's either embellishment going on or it's what they wished they would have done, but it never happened

Getting her crying is satisfying enough.

Can totally understand that. Been preparing to destroy someone for 3 decades. The end will be glorious.

[–] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

If you're three decades into trying to destroy someone, and you haven't done anything yet, you're just lying to yourself.

[–] Jaarsh119@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Been preparing to destroy someone for 3 decades.

If there's a story here, I would like to hear it

[–] rengoku2@lemm.ee 0 points 1 year ago (2 children)

So long story shot. When I was a kid (7/8 y/o), an extended family member kicked us (me and my direct family) out of our family house when my dad and uncle passed away.

Unfortunately, there was a dispute of this said house and blah blah law this and that. Homeless.

The said guy got ahold of the house and been staying there.

Fast forward today, been working hard to get monies. I got a wind of family conflict of this guy, money issue is apparently the cause so he attempted to sell the house. I bought the house through third party (friend's name) and I rent it back to him.

Soon he will have a granddaughter or grandson, the day he returns back home with the newborn will be the day I kick the whole family out.

[–] fushuan@lemm.ee 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It doesn't matter what your uncle did to you, you are kicking out your cousin and their kids from the home, who might have no idea on all of this. Get prepared to be hated...

[–] rengoku2@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

That I dont care. I will burn down everything till he cant even cry.

[–] Shardikprime@lemmy.world -1 points 1 year ago

Bro deluded himself into denial

[–] areyouevenreal@lemm.ee 13 points 1 year ago

Learning is never a waste of time, even if it's for petty reasons like this. Not only does he get his revenge, he also now knows more about a topic he wouldn't learn about otherwise.

[–] coffeebiscuit@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

The quote is also older than twitter.

[–] RickyRigatoni@lemmy.ml 9 points 1 year ago (2 children)

That's literally how you win.

[–] technicalogical@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Winning is never getting into a pissing contest to begin with.

[–] RickyRigatoni@lemmy.ml -2 points 1 year ago

Why would I not get into a pissing contest when I can cut metal with my stream?

[–] Mamertine@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That is equivalent to crabs pulling each other back into the bucket so none can escape.

[–] RickyRigatoni@lemmy.ml -4 points 1 year ago

If one of the crabs was angry enough it would burn a hole through the bucket.

[–] tacosanonymous@lemm.ee 9 points 1 year ago

Yeah, this is some "green text" bs.
