I don't get why the activity of mocking Libertarians is so popular on Reddit and Lemmy. It's a 3rd party that never wins elections, and promotes individual freedom and fiscal responsibility. So what?
Because they promote selfishness, and given their way, would benefit few at the expense of many. Humans are inherently stronger as a group than alone. We need to use that strength to do things for the common good, such as providing services such as fire fighters, libraries, and education. Libertarians would prefer to avoid helping anyone but themselves.
So what? So let's dance!
