It increases the stakes of dying. You can't just retry, you have to listen to the villain monologue again
So it spoils the game for you because it's harder to try again? Bad idea.
TV and controller manufacturers bribe game developers to do this. Increases the likelihood of frustrated gamers destroying one or both objects, increasing sales.
