There are some researchers that have suggested we never left the dark ages ..... we developed and evolved technologically ... but we haven't changed or evolved how we think and work as a society.
We may do things faster and more efficiently or even do things we never did before .... but we still think the same way we did a thousand, two thousand years ago.
