I think Reform are basically stuck at 25-30% of the electorate at the moment and are trying to appear more "moderate" to expand their base as that won't be enough for a durable majority. See their statement about the Online Safety Act too. They're backed by American Christian fundamentalists at the end of the day so you can't trust this one bit.
You should never trust a fascist, ever. Except when they're letting you know you that they're going to kill you. Deception is part of their modus operandi.
