Here on lemmy.ml, the preview only says "403 Forbidden". And after klicking the link, there was some strange "verification process" and the video only loaded on the second try.

Yeah yewtu.be is often blocking automated requests. But it should always work on normal browser connections. Are you using a VPN?

hmm, no VPN in that moment. Likely just the way my browser or lemmy.ml interacts with yewtu.be, but no bother. In the end it was fine.
