A worker indicated on social media that the union scheduled negotiations right before the Fourth of July, preventing workers’ ability to strike during the profitable holiday even if a tentative agreement had not been reached, as the union is required to give a 72-hour strike notice to the company.

Trade unions screwing workers out of their negotiating power and grocery stores desperate to keep their monopoly.

I really appreciate this extra context.

You're right. The Safeway Union fought hard for the gains that they did get and we should be proud that they were able to extract any concessions in the Imperial core.

It sucks they didn't get better than what they did get but the fact they were able to extract anything is better than most workers in the United States get anyway.

I really appreciate you highlighting the specific points of where they were trying to twist and hide things. That'll make it a lot easier for me and hopefully others to identify these type of things in the future.
