An online space for the vegans of Lemmy.
Rules and miscellaneous:
- We take for granted that if you engage in this community, you understand that veganism is about the animals. You either are vegan for the animals, or you are not (this is not to say that discussions about climate/environment/health are not allowed, of course)
- No omni/carnist apologists. This is not a place where to ask to be hand-holded into veganims. Omnis coddling/backpatting is not tolerated, nor are /r/DebateAVegan-like threads
- Use content warnings and NSFW tags for triggering content

you can still enjoy the taste of meat and eat an ethical diet. same reason people use dildos instead of real penises
It is a weird concept and I think it pertains to people who have recently transitioned to a vegan lifestyle (nostalgia) or for those that at least still remember what meat and seafood taste like. If you have been a vegan long enough, those taste are fleeting. So, why even concentrate on products that offer those old tastes, especially considering their original source? How about creating new flavors from natural products, that is where I am most interested in. Heck, even a lot of vegan recipes try and mimic or translate into a vegan palate their dead animal counterparts. Lets put those tastes and recipes behind us, and create anew.
