It's most likely hot air, either by the agent as a scare tactic or journalists for clicks, but even if Nwaneri does decide he wants regular football, why the hell would he entertain Chelsea?

Sure he'll get a fat paycheck, but there's no way in hell he'd be guaranteed regular football with their bloated squad. It would defeat the purpose of moving for game time.

It feels like journos are feeding off Chelsea's transfer activity for views.

Unfortunately a precedent has already been set by Omari Hutchinson, at the very least. He got lured over there from our academy by a boat-load of money, a house for his family, etc.

Not saying Nwaneri would necessarily do that too. I think he's got more common sense. But it's not an impossible scenario.

Hopefully he realizes that he still has a future with us. He's definitely a confidence player though. I think the reason his form dropped off a bit at the end of last season was because he wasn't getting as much match time. But you're right, he'll get even less if that at Chelsea than he will with us.

Tbh, an ITK I trust said that if anything it was too much match time that they were worried about which is why he played less at the end of the season. Which I could buy, I mean he's only 18, but also who knows lol

Either way I'd be shocked if he leaves, man's been a Gooner for life
