How about you be a European colony again for a few decades? Just to get on your feet again, take it easy for a while. You can be on our health insurance plan. Eventually , if you're very good, you might even be allowed to join properly, just like your next door neighbour up the street.
How about we end not just US imperialism, but also European imperialism, once and for all?

Not really. The US Empire may have hegemony, but Western Europe is a willing participant in that imperialism, and is a major benefactor of it. When the nicer quality of life in Western Europe depends on the same system of imperialism that the US benefits from, it still requires vast exploitation of the global south.
Better to end imperialism in general and move on beyond capitalism to socialism, so humanity can finally begin to move forwards collectively.
We're not being entirely serious here, you know? Besides, fuck having to take care of a whole ass colony of people with too many guns.
You never know, European Nationalism is on the rise, especially on Lemmy in recent months after that one Reddit drama.
I have no idea what drama happens on Reddit. I'm just here eating popcorn and shitposting, awaiting the imminent fall of Western civilisation as a whole as the US drags us all down with it.
