I rode a bike with mostly slick city tires for years without a single puncture, then I had incredibly shitty luck and in the span of a few months managed to hit like 6 glass shards. I just got this bike a few weeks ago agony-wholesome

Oof sorry friend.

I've had good luck with schwalbe and continental, they tend to have models resistant to puncture and they aren't too focused on "pro performance" (disposable but grippy).

This time I was left stranded about 10 km from home and I had to walk the bike to a friend's house. Usually, the punctures I get are so small that the air escapes slowly enough that I can get all the way home only to discover a completely flat tire the next day.

Anyway, I decided to try patching the tube instead of replacing it this time which proved to be much less of a hassle and something that I could do on the road in the future, so it was a valuable experience

Oh nice! Good work! Always great when a tube patch can get you home. I actually carry full on tubes (light and small tpu ones) and they also come with a mini patch kit. Got them on aliexpress for like $6 per tube in bulk a while back.
