I don't know how much here have played Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth (Hackers Memory). If i read this, i think they haven't done much different:
Well it was fine in cyber sleuth, but i wish the Element would have a bigger influece than the Attribut. A lot Digimon from the main characters in the series are Vaccine or Data. Out of my head i only know Guilmon as Virus type. I don't know what the other Attributs mean, but i haven't seen every newer digimom animes. So maybe it's fine here.
I guess it's like Cyber Sleuth again, to getting stronger you need to use evolution and de-evolution a lot. I think that's fine for me, let's see how it turns out to be. But Cyber Sleuth was developed for the vita and the inland farming was a big part to farming exp for digimon and using evolution and de-evolution a lot. So the vita was suposed to stay in standby while island farming goes on. I always thought that doesn't work that well on PS4 or PC. So hope that turns out good here as well.

I think it read itself fine, i'm kind of to exited for this game as someone liking digimon. I just hope they have a good balance in farming possible for long time motivation and nesssary for just a gameplay run.

I'm not a huge fan of using both attributes and types to determine damage. I fear it can become overwhelming pretty fast and devolve into a chaotic mess of not knowing what to expect in battle.
Like, Pokémon has type effectiveness, but each creature has up to two types, and they are usually easy to learn at a glance (with a few exceptions - I still don't know why Lucario is Steel-type). Digimon have one of three attributes and (up to three?) different types, so I don't know if I'll bother with learning the system as opposed to just using my favourite monsters and calling it a day.
That being said, I like personalities and branching evolution paths. The latter especially is what hooked me in Digimon World 1, and no other monster collector has ever replicated the same feeling of obtaining a powerful monster that you like. In Pokémon, obtaining a Charizard is just a matter of beating enough enemies to a pulp (which somehow also increases your friendship with your Pokémon). Digimon World was a lot more fun because you never knew what you were getting - and I'll never forget the feeling of obtaining an Ultimate Digimon for the first time in that game.
All in all, I'm pretty excited for this title. It seems the first time in forever Digimon has granted a decent enough budget to the developers to craft something they deem worthy of being sold.
Digimon Cyber Sleuth and my last digimon game, digimon survive, doesn't had a big budget. You recognise that on the graphic, static camera and reused sprites. This title was 8 years in development and it seems bandai namco spend quite a bit into it. That's why i'm excited as well.
