Crinkle cut is objectively the best kind of standard fry if you don't mess with the nature of the potato itself and you're frying it.
If you're using the oven the waffle fries are better because you need the larger surface area to make it crispier and it's harder to get a great texture with the crinkle cut.
But objectively, truly, scientifically, potato pancakes beat fries every time.
