they got lazy, and dont want to spend any money doing mentorships, or whatever to jumpstart someones career. hence alot of people in stems dont go further than thier degree, because theres no experience you can even get outside of a school. they dont ahve the advantages of programmers/software who can get experience,c ertifications outside of school(you have to be undergrad to work in a lab that already very limited space, and its usually full), also dont expect getting a masters will help too.

It's a real shame. There are tons of motivated, talented people entering the workforce who would be great with a little professional training and support. Boeing had a pilot program a while back where they did intense training with new hires early in their career. That program produced really great team members - any of whom I'd fight to have on my team. I hope others start similar programs.

its probably selective, if boeing as a program, probably need said experience, or significant academic achievments, including grades. Also if you been to a CC that have "ivy league level"(they gave a reason why they had these classes) classes your gpa will suffer, as many people arnt expected that level of difficulty to a pre-universitiy college.

That is particular program was funded by the US government with requirements to hire former military and disadvantaged people. These were people who would have otherwise slipped through the cracks.
