Sure - technically that's being late. That being said, I think 5 minutes late is better than 5 minutes early. That's why I always either arrive exactly on time or 5 minutes late at worst.

Being 5 min early wastes your time.
Being 5 min late wastes everyone else's time.
That's why it's inconsiderate and rude.

Showing up 5 minutes early when people weren't ready for your arrival is inconsiderate as well. Being 5 minutes early and then waiting for 5 minutes before showing up for the appointment is a different story.
