I mean, the US and Israel did help put that guy in power. If anything he is just paying them back. Not that its any excuse of course.

Didn't the US mostly back the Kurdish forces in that civil war? Meanwhile Turkie backed the group that eventually toppled the government. I'm probably oversimplifying
