I straight up disagree with this. I recently (okay, six months now...) started using Tidal alongside Spotify, and literally think the shuffle algorithm is better than Spotify's. The recommendation system took some getting used to, but I think it's on par. Just different.

Honestly, my experience with Tidal reminds me of my experience with Vinyl: focus on albums and artist, not algorithmically generated playlists. I feel like I've become a better listener due to that, which is why I finally cancelled my Spotify subscription. I'm also sick of shitty mp3 compression...
