I’m talking about a new game but made with old graphics and mechanics similar to Megaman 9 & 10.

I personally think such a thing could sell gangbusters and honestly go on record as one of the greatest Pokemon games ever made, especially in recent years.

Reposted from !games@lemmy.world, here (they got a lot of responses), figured this would definitely be appropriate here, especially since I complained in the !games post about it being posted there first instead of here. Might as well be the change I want to see in the world.

No. I want a mainline Pokémon game to realize it’s 2025 and fucking update their goddamn gameplay. Palworld was the best Pokémon game since Ni No Kuni. Everything else has been literal shovelware trash priced as it it’s a AAA title.

Palworld is a weird mishmash of popular game mechanics that feels disjointed at times, but I'd still take it over literally any Pokémon game.

I think the balance for late game is a little harsh, but settings are adjustable so whatever.
