So I’ve been reading that the Callaway Edge sets at Costco are the best bang for your buck but I also am not sure if it would be worth it since apparently they don’t have resale value

I’ve found some preowned deals on FB marketplace wondering if these might be better:

$125 for Strata: Driver 3wood 4 hybrid 5 hybrid

$350 for Hawkeye and Fairway woods set

$350 strata 9 club set

I can send pics too if needed

I think the Strata set was a Chinese set sold on Amazon. Not very popular, nor well liked.

You can find decent clubs on marketplace or offer up (which is where I bought all mine, ~400 for everything). For example, I have the TaylorMade R9 Supertri that was $40.

Older irons have more loft, but it's not such a big concern in the beginning, and you can add a wood or hybrid to get distances. I'd look for something that's clean, complete, and somewhat known (TaylorMade, Callaway, Ping, Srixion, Mizuno, Maltby).

A putter is very personal, so go to a shop and try out different classes of putters (mallet, blade, etc), then buy a cheap one that's most comfortable.

Finally, don't worry so much about resale, as most clubs will lose value as the years move on and technology changes.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
