Yeah reading Plato's republic, where he writes about the need for military culture and people being born with certain souls which sort them into a hierarchy was insane. It's so strange for him to be one of the most known philosophers, yet his actual philosophy is so proto-fascist and no one ever mentions that.
I definitely impress on my students that Plato was a goddamn fascist whenever I teach his stuff.
