I feel there needs to be a fundamental change in how people think in the US. first and foremost, government is bad. A government that is not run by the people for the people is bad. Just look at whats happening right now.

We need to all work together to solve issues not siloed in competition with each other. Rather than allowing companies to buy other companies only to squash solid ideas to keep things status quo in favor for cleaner / better / safer. Look at big oil and the lobbying they have done in the past.

As a nation we are thinking like we have plenty of land. We can waste as much as we want. When in reality we are burning through our resources at a breakneck speed.

Yes its true we have a lot of publicly owned lands that are forested and have largely remained as such. However disrupting those lands for lumber and fossil fuel could have impacts on our environment that we may not be able to come back from.

We need to be focusing on National efforts to modernize our infrastructure. Not hoping a company will pop up and suddenly offer something better.

Rather than trying to privatize everything, perhaps we should look at what would happen if things like electricity was provided by government run entities. Not big slow like we are used to but something more efficient and streamlined.

The same types researchers and think tanks we used to have to fight disease and medical breakthroughs, would find new ways to power and heat our homes.

We need out of the box thinking and revolutionary thinking which is why we have to invest in our school system like never before.

Start with a ground up rebuild of the USA. All this would need an influx of money. Make being a teacher something to be looked up to again. This money would come in from all the folks and companies that are currently NOT paying onto the system.

Why should they pay in? In order to compete with the global market. Business owners claim we need H1Bs because we don’t have enough trained people in the US to do some of the most demanding and skilled jobs. Charge a fee to all businesses that use H1Bs to start training US citizens for the fields that are in high demand.

We have the ability to change a lot of things once we clean up the mess we are in now.
