Dear god post-grunge was awful. I call it Iraq war core. Fun fact: the lead singer of this is Aaron Lewis, a noxious chud who wrote a miserable song called "Am I the Only One" a few years back.

My uncle, who's 5 years older than me, was my entry point to music. And he listened to this and a lot of alternative rock from the early 2000s. It's so fucking dire, but at the same time a bit nostalgic, if only because i listened to it before i could figure out my own music taste.
