Chalk a checkmark on the bucket list indeed!

From what I'm told, there are three different lots of Guinness barrels:

  1. Only sold in and around Dublin.
  2. Only sold everywhere else in Ireland, as well as the UK.
  3. Sold as export to the rest of the world.

I've had options 2 and 3, and there is a very noticeable difference.
I can only imagine what yours tastes like, but I bet that if I ever tried it, I'd try to never leave Dublin again.

Most of the Guinness sold in the rest of the world is not brewed in Dublin though. There are breweries in Baltimore and Chicago for example. I think there are 49 or 50 breweries making it world wide, and only about 5 of those are owned by Diageo. Presumably the rest are licensees of some kind.

Yeah, I'm definitely not a Guinness drinker back in the States. I'm a hazy IPA guy.
