It really needs to be seen in person. I thought I’d only experience VB through emulation on 2D display but this translates really well.
3DS once again proves to be one of the most versatile Nintendo consoles around - official NES/GB emulation, native GBA support and ports from GameCube/Wii. It’s a shame they mostly do boring hardware these days.
So far, the closest I had was a PC emulator (can't remember off the top of my head what it was called), that could present it as parallel-view 3D, which I am good enough at to sustain it for some bursts of gameplay - but the emulated screen was sadly tiny to not overstrain the eyes too much. I'd love to set it emulated like this up in person some time in the future.
IIRC a few years back I used those red and blue 3d glasses to try virtualboy emulation. That could be a cheap way to get 3d visuals, definitely cheaper than a 3ds lol.
