Or, you know, drink less alcohol.

High taxes on alcohol is a public health measure, meant to encourage people to drink less poison.

Good question. It's working pretty well, actually.

A large literature establishes that beverage alcohol prices and taxes are related inversely to drinking. Effects are large compared to other prevention policies and programs. Public policies that raise prices of alcohol are an effective means to reduce drinking.

Yea it's actually a very effective countermeasure. That why I hate it. I know it's the absolute right thing.... but I like drinking...
