So Google decided to swap out batteries for free on Pixel 4a phones. I have two of them running LineageOS without Google, but I'd really like some fresh batteries. But I don't know if Google will accept my phone. Did anyone already try to get the free replacement? How did you do it and how did it work?

I have used the page linked to in the comments. But that just said that they received my request - no indication if I had an affected device or not. Also for my jurisdiction I cannot get the free battery replacement, just the money or store credit.

I still have to hear back from them.

You can tell which battery you have physically by the number next to the QR code. 8230015901 is ATL (good) and 8230020501 is LSN (bad). If you're replacing your battery, make sure it's ATL.

adb shell cat /sys/class/power_supply/battery/serial_number

(Or just run the above in termux without the adb shell part)

I already did that. It doesn't change the fact, that a normal user will not do that and google will just not tell you straight up.

Oh I thought you weren't sure if your device was affected or not
