Did Kirk have a lot of trysts in the books or something? In the show he and the woman of the week would often make eyes at one another, but it usually wasn't even implied that they had sex. Riker's promiscuity is far more an established thing
Watching TOS last year and yeah, he wasn't celibate, but he was pretty much married to his ship and more interested in the stars than romance.
To the point that he'd have several crew members tell him that to his face and he would reply "that is... indeedacorrect... statement of... mynature".
Spock. you meant married to Spock.

IMO it was much more about Kirk’s inherent irresistibly to women than actual sex. In TOS the women are practically fainting at the sight of Kirk. That’s because Kirk is a Mary Sue TV trope but perhaps more relevant, Kirk was very obviously Roddenberry’s stand-in for himself.
