Here is one problem with this analysis. You will notice the scale is missing from this chart. The fact is, French peasants were close to starving then. The reason you don't see widespread revolt is because those at the bottom of the chart today lead a vastly improved life versus a French peasant. I mean, it's factual we are not in revolt today so what is the counter hypothesis of the chart's author?
