We should definitely stop using "Red Tories", not only there isn't anything red about them, but this idiom is very close to "red fash" and will legitimise it.
I really don't think we can get that to happen, it has an absolutely ridiculous amount of usage and history with an actual clear meaning for a political line of thought beyond just being an insult. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Tory
Yooo that's wild, i literally heard it first time few days ago after the Brit elections so i thought it's something new.
i'm not sure thats applicable really, like, normal libs in my life have called the current labour admin red tories, but i don't think they've ever even heard the term "red fash" because that's some obscure
shit. and while labour may not be red in the commie sense, i don't think we could get them to change the entire parties branding lmao
