That's only true on mobile because I have no other choice. On my laptop I have basically two ad blockers
I assume by this that you are on iOS? In that case you could use AltStore, but refreshing the apps every week is indeed a hassle.

Why not use revanced then? It's really easy, the biggest inconvenience is having to manually update every few months or so.
Newpipe also pairs well with revanced. Let's you download in all different formats and such. Just can't port your Google profile over so I used revanced for most stuff.
Huawei uses android doesn't it? Get revanced app and newpipe. Revanced is YouTube but with a ton more options and no ads. Even ports your normal profile. Newpipe plays YouTube stuff but the account you make is local. Can't port your Google account BUT it can download any video on just about any format you want. Makes stealing music and shit real easy. You can paste YouTube links directly into newpipe and it'll take you to the video. Newpipe is super easy, you just install. Revanced take a little work to get up and running. Both are worth it.
Altstore is only available in Europe for mobile.
I use ReVanced Extended. No idea if it works outside of Europe though.
