I was pregnant with my 4th child and dreamed about a little boy that I was playing tag with. He was about 5, light complected with a little Dutch boy haircut. We were playing until I got tired and I told him I needed to rest.

When I layed down to rest, he tried to suffocate me with a pillow. I woke up startled and feeling like someone was trying to kill me.

I left the bed and went to the living room, I was very wound up.

At some point I started to doze on the couch and my oldest got up and was getting cereal in the kitchen. My bedroom shared a wall with the kitchen. As he came into the living room, he said he saw a little boy jump into the wall from my bed. I sat straight up and asked him to repeat himself. He said it again and described the little boy from my dream.

I don't ever want to see a ghost again!!!

My mother bought a new house in the Appalachian Mountains. We've always lived in the area, but we used to live in the valley the mountains created. This is our first time ever being right on top of the mountains. My mother and her boyfriend are Christian, while me and my younger sister are more Spiritualist and Pantheism. My family is also Wynnadot Native American descent from my great grandmother, who my mother was incredibly close to.

I've encountered many spirits before, however my family has always politely considered me and my sister crazy for trying to keep ourselves safe from spirits. I've had spiritual encounters before, many scary ones where I almost felt my soul was taken, but this was the first time I felt like my life was genuinely about to end. We live in an old coal mining town, but the old owners spent almost 2 years renovating to make the house comfortable and livable. It's incredibly windy, but having lived in windy areas before I know the difference between wind blowing by or through a window. It's also a freezing February and it's so cold I'd rather leap into the snow than open a window right now.

It was maybe 9pm? I was in the bathroom when I first heard it. It was that really distinct sound of a human whistle. No one in my house knows how to whistle, and none of the shows we watch contain that sort of whistling. My mother and her boyfriend started suddenly arguing soon after, but they had nothing to argue about. I went upstairs and heard it all night long.

I started reading a book and put on noise cancelling head phones with a drama video on to ignore it. But I just kept hearing it. It was a human whistle, the way you'd call your dog or someone back to you while hiking, but also like a very accurate bird song. We have neighbors, but they keep to themselves and usually use their dogs names to call them back, not whistling. I felt incredibly unsafe. The only similar feeling I can describe was when I was being followed home one night, but he stopped following me when he realized I knew he was there. Incredibly tense with adrenaline and the complete nausea of anxiety.

I just kept ignoring it, even though it sounded just out my window. But everytime I would sneak a glance nothing was there or changed. It just kept whistling, sometimes whistling over itself. I eventually fell asleep, but kept waking up every other hour because I still heard it. By about 4am when my baby sister started crying I felt the adrenaline had completely stopped. She seemed pretty scared, but my mother eventually calmed her back to bed.

But when we went in the kitchen our lights had started leaking the fluid that turns them on. And I heard someone tapping on our back screen door in the kitchen, as if gently knocking, but no one ever called back when I said hello from the living room so I didn't answer.

I just don't feel entirely safe here, but I feel my mother wouldn't understand my fear. I have anxiety, but it's never affected my perception of reality or my religion. I don't take any medicines, food, or drinks that would affect that either. I plan to buy a dream catcher for my room, alongside maybe a rock salt lamp. I brought my amethyst and biggest quartz here because I felt called too before I left. I'll probably leave those on the windows with a bowl of salt near my bed. But I'm not sure if there's anything else I can do.

TLDR: I heard human whistling all night when there should have been no reason for it. Any help is well appreciated and any questions I'll answer.

Around 5pm this evening my son and I were on our way to the local fishing pier up the road from my house. We were driving on Strauber Memorial/ Anclote Blvd in the Anclote area of Holiday, Florida for reference ( I won’t type out the whole history of this road, but you can look it up under most haunted places in Florida). This is a narrow two lane road that runs along the coast, and a large electric plant. The car in front of us suddenly slowed to a complete stop and because there was oncoming traffic I couldn’t go around him so I too stopped. The man, who was alone, jumped out of his car in a complete panic and started screaming “are you ok”? He immediately got down on all fours and started shining his flashlight under his car and looking all around the immediate area frantically. He was in obvious shock, he looked disoriented and was shaking. My first thought was maybe this guys is on drugs, ( it is Holiday after all), but he was a well dressed and healthy looking guy in a nice car, and didn’t look at all like a typical druggie. He walked around his car about 4 times maybe then he looked at me and my son and said thru the window “where did he go”? My son and I were looking for some kind of animal, assuming maybe he thought he hit a squirrel that we didn’t see or something. My son stated that we didn’t see anything, and that we don’t think he hit anything. My son asked what he hit, and the man looked at us with the craziest look and said “that kid on the bike”! We were like no man , there was nobody on a bike. He was white as a ghost at this point and just kind of turned around and walked back to his car confused. As I was driving away I got goosebumps realizing that he probably just had encountered one of the roads infamous spirits that is supposed to haunt that stretch of road. Either that or he was high on meth.

I was sitting on my couch on Tuesday and my sister walks in the living room with a friend and that friend sayd my she saw my dead grandpa and said he was here to protect me and my dad i didnt believe her at first but then she described him and it was a perfect description. Yesterday evening she was back and i was talking to her about it and she said that we could talk to him with the estes method (i dont know how to spell that) so i was talking to him and asked him what year he died to make sure she isnt fucking with me she said 2009 and it indeed was 2009 so i knew i was talking to him fast forward to that evening and i was talking to my friends about it and a friend said ask him if he is here so i did more for jokes butt 5 seconds later something fell in the water and that was the most paranormal thing i ever encountered today i will talk to the ghosts again with 2 friends to let them believe it

This is just some stories throughout my life that I'm 98% sure was ghosts.

Story 1: Car accident

My parents got divorced when I was 7 so much of my childhood was visiting my dad a few times a year several states over for holidays and part of the summer. He was driving me home and on a long flat strip of highway it was raining very hard. The car swerved a tiny bit then a little bit later full on hydroplaned down a hill and hit a bunch of trees sideways. My dad had a f150 and the front section where we both were was fine but the back was mangled. We were both conscious and unharmed. I looked to my right and there was a guy just standing there at my window. I rolled down the window and he just asked if we were okay. i said yes then looked at my dad was who calling 911 then when I looked back there was no one at the window. There was no cars up the hill and I could see the side of the road for 100's of feet in both directions. Just gone. There's no way someone parked and ran down the hill this fast. I asked my dad " did u see that guy" and he said" what guy?" When paramedics arrived they said they always get crashes when it rains hard on this strip so I'm guessing it was someone who never made it out checking on us.

Story 2 Ouiji boards are bulshit.

I worked overnight at a drug rehab and the start of every shift was go to each of the men's dorms and turn the lobby tv's off and tell them to go to bed. I come into one of the dorms and a few guys had made a makeshift ouiji board and planchett. I made fun of them and said " oh that shits not real you guys just move it on your own subconsciously" and they swore no it is! Ask it something we wouldn't know. So I said ok what's my middle name? They then spelled out my middle name correctly which is Alan, instead of Allen. I was a little shook but not convinced, I asked " okay what street did I grow up on" they then spelled my childhood street correctly which is also a very uncommon name. About 4 letters into the street name being right I was convinced that shits real.

And the final story: The roomate.

I've had this friend for almost 10 years now and I needed a new roomate so I move him in and very minor poltergeist activity almost immedtialey starts. Things moved, lights on and off by themselves. One time when I was half awake I heard and could feel someone watching me from my cracked bedroom door but wasn't looking at it and I assumed it was him seeing if I was awake then found out he wasn't even home that night. We had a shelf in our living room that I had several action figures on it and random shit. I come into the living room and ones just in the middle of the living room. I finally ask my roomate if he's noticed all the weird shit happening and he says that he has a spirit that follows him everywhere he lives but it isn't dangerous. I'm pretty skeptical and don't really take him seriously but flash forward a little bit, we both end up at the same job, he ends up dating a girl there and they move in together and all the shit stops abruptly. Another coworker who is friends with his girlfriend just randomly without me telling her any of my story just says " did you know Rob and caits apartment is haunted? They came home and the furniture was all moved around.

Weird stuff man.

I’m not really sure if this is the right place to post this, but oh well…

My baby sister, who is two years old, used to love taking showers. Every few showers, I would be the one bathing her. About two months ago, she suddenly started hating showers, crying hysterically whenever she had to take one. But she never said why.

For the past few days, my mom has been telling me that she keeps waking up at night, crying that someone hit her. Until then, I thought it was just a toddler’s imagination or a nightmare.

An hour ago, I was giving her a shower. As always, she started crying, but then she suddenly got really calm. I tried singing to her and playing games, and she seemed to go along with it. While I was getting her dressed, she started pointing to the corner above the mirror, saying there was a monster. At first, I just told her there was nothing there and that she shouldn’t be scared, but she kept pointing and repeating it.

I started getting chills down my neck, like someone was there, but I tried to act as if nothing was wrong. I continued telling her stories and singing while helping her get dressed, trying to distract her, but she wouldn’t stop pointing and insisting there was a monster. That eerie feeling behind me kept getting heavier. In the end, I just hurried up, got her out of the bathroom, and closed the door behind me.

I’m still freaked out.

(Apologies for the length; brevity is not my strength.)

A decade ago I bought an old general store to set up a manufacturing shop. I’m fairly sure it threw me plenty of paranormalcy over the years...

It was just an 8000/sf box — no long corridors or office clusters. It was built in 1980 on an old homestead next to a big red barn (turn of the century era). In the early 2000s an arsonist set fire to the barn and nothing remained but ash and iron. The only other physical details of note to the weird happenings might be the federal energy labs 20 miles up the road, or the wayback-era of Shoshone occupancy on the land.

From the first month on, I suspected some kind of “something” in my building.

Mainly, I had the worst luck with machinery. No matter how new or well-maintained, machines broke down constantly in random ways at “malicious” times (like under deadline or holiday rush).

This went on for ten solid years. No single human has that much “bad luck” with so many varying types of equipment. Things like: alignment adjustments to big drum sanders and CNCs; knob tension changes and wheel adjustments in industrial embroiderers; fridges flipped off at night (not tripped, but flipped); loosened bolts and partially-sliced drive belts; overnight congealing in $5000 plotter heads; wire cutters and soldering irons flipped on; room temperature settings changed to the low 50s… Those things don’t just happen. It was so ongoing that it seriously felt like sabotage.

So I had the place professionally tested for freak issues to find anything fixable, like electricity surges, static buildup, humidity problems, rogue wireless signals, rodents, carbon monoxide... I had all the locks changed and was very strict about key distribution. I never had more than 12 employees and a handful of family there. Usually the place was run by just five or six of us. Some of them would have no idea how to adjust the level of a sander drum, planer, or CNC just enough to screw up materials or chip belts/blades.

Equipment aside, most of us had seen, heard, or felt things we couldn’t reliably explain. Examples:

~ “Distant” voices in the storage lofts

~ Clicking and whispering over the wired (not WiFi) speaker system when the music was off

~ Shadows appearing here and there (disclaimer: my husband thinks these were caused by reflections of passing headlights. That’s a reasonable idea. But he was rarely there and never actually saw the shadows. They weren’t sharp or fast, weren’t visually striking. Just soft, dark areas that were there, and then were not. If you didn’t know what a spot looked like without the shadow, you probably wouldn’t notice it.)

~ Barely perceptible movement in reflections on powered-down computer monitors.

~ Cold spots and passing breezes (the place had no open-able windows, three exterior doors, and one garage door. Cold was noticeable enough that I had roofers come check the fascia to make sure the roof was intact, had no invading birds or wasp nests.)

~ Sudden crashes or drops of tools, materials, or shelves where no one was near. (For a year I was convinced that a stray cat must have found a way to get in. I had the building’s whole perimeter and siding checked by an exterminator.)

Of all the staff and my family over the years, five females in particular were certain we had experienced something “odd” there — as if something lingered after-hours when it was quiet and we were working alone. Three of the younger ladies got to the point of burning sage and incense. Late work nights were often described as “uncomfortable” or “interesting”.

Now to the pinnacle of my experiences...

After ten years, I decided to sell the place and get the hell out. The machinery problems were beyond frustrating and so damned expensive. It was a money-pit and I was worn out. Between that, Covid, and the political landscape around here, I just didn’t have it in me anymore.

One evening I was wrapping up the realtor’s listing paperwork, and joked to my daughter across the space that the ghost(s) would be happy to see us go. Then I turned to walk across the warehouse to the printer, and SLAMMED full-body into one of the shadows.

The experience was like walking into a physical person coming fast the opposite way towards me: I hit it / it hit me, and I BOUNCED backward. My arms flailed and I almost fell. The shadow wasn’t there for even a full second — so briefly that I wasn’t even sure I’d seen it. There was nothing I could have tripped on or clothes-lined myself with. It was just a big, empty area with a clean concrete floor.

Here’s the kicker: My adult daughter witnessed the incident in full unobstructed view. She was looking right at me because I was talking to her. She said it was like watching someone get punched by invisible energy in a sci-fi or war movie.

After I scrambled myself up I yelled “JFC DID YOU SEE THAT?!” My daughter was frozen, her eyes popping-round. She said, “Let’s. Go. Right. Now.” We didn’t even turn off the lights. From then on we kind of nagged friends to come help us move out faster. We had seen and experienced many, many odd little things, but this… If something actually wanted to hurt us, game over.

Was it that damned thing’s reaction to my joke about being rid of us?!

Our husbands have given us plenty of shit; they come up with explanations for everything... The thing is, I’m only a few childhood church-lessons from being atheist myself. I’m not spiritual. I don’t personally believe in fairies or sky lords or spaghetti monsters; I’ve never burned a bundle of herbs in superstition. Science and sci-fi are my bag. So I too tried to explain away the building’s many years of much weird shit. But that last incident — unless I had some kind of singular seizure or stroke — something was there and it physically HIT me.

I hope whatever it is likes the building’s new owners more than it liked us. (My realtor was like “Um, please don’t joke about ghosts in front of potential buyers” heh.)

__

Parallel Tale: One of my older employees (a no-nonsense tough-as-nails 60-year-old) had worked at the federal energy lab up the road, in security, back in the 90s. She said that stories of paranormal activity on the desert grounds were common among security staff. (There was a nuclear incident in the 70s out there, and Shoshone & Bannock tribal history on the land.)

One early evening she was foot-patrolling the outer perimeter when a voice spoke to her, as clear as someone standing right next to her.

Picture it: Dusk; empty desert; buildings hundreds of feet away, and someone said actual words to her. She said it was so freaky that she barely had the presence-of-mind to draw her gun. She spun, and spun again, and then SPRINTED back to the buildings. She said workers liked to play jokes on each other out there, but there was no way this was a joke. She was completely alone and isolated in the field, and the voice was near her head.

So I wonder if that area’s old history was related to my building issues somehow. Something to ponder.

Man, I’m so happy to finally be out of there.

__

Thanks for joining me.

My brother was 36 years old and had Down syndrome. We were very close. I took care of him his first 20 years like he was my own child. He was a truly loving and empathic person. After I spent 8 days a nights at the hospital, hoping and praying (not to any good). I was telling him about how much I loved him, about memories, scratching his arm and played whit his hair. But his body couldn’t handle his sickness. He was fat and had lots of other problems after he had pneumonia that he almost died of 2 January. He almost had a heart attack by then but survived but whent in narcosis. He woke up again but couldn’t walk sense then. He went to the emergency hospitals two times after that. I was asking for a sign the hole week. And our family whit mother, father and us 5 siblings was there day and night. We hade some god times together whit him and the family. He had oxidgin mask a lot the last weeks. But this Monday he said that he was seeing spiders and snakes all over the hospital. No sign of lacking of oxygen before. He had so Much panic. Also asking why och that he was scared. After one and a half day whit mofin and he’s body colapsing, the doctor and family decided to take of the mask. It was some hard hours after. Everyone in the family was there in the room and outside. I sat and hold he’s hand. I started to get really tired, and sleepy. Then I felt like red fire in my wains. From the hand that I was holding him to my heart. Feelt like it was electricity. It stung. I guess it was like 5 times. Afterward I felt someone playing whit my hair. Like the wind spirit I the movie frozen. It was so surreal and so lovely. It really felt like he petted my hair. And then he was dead in that moment. It was like a sign and felt really comforting and playful, just as he was. No other in the room had experienced anything. They just tink I’m nuts. Maybe I am. I have been hearing his voice afterwards saying “vad fan” it’s in Swedish from a movie they we jused to watch. I’m so glad that I experienced this. But I would like to hear others story’s and telling me that I’m right and not crazy.

This happened in the late 90s early 2000s when I was under 10. I was being a shitty brat to my Abuelita. She was in the living room when she told me to go fetch her scissors in her room

I went to her room to grab them and she has a frame picture of her mom/my great grandma. I felt eyes on me and I looked at the picture frame that was at my eye level. I shit you not, my great grandma shook her head in disappointment and looked disappointed. All the peach fuzz on my body stood up as I felt a change in the energy of the room. It just got a bit colder with a slight electrical charge.

I SCREECHED and ran out the room yelling “abuelita!!! I’m so sorry!” Shaking and hugging her, telling her I’m sorry for being a shithead. I told her what happened and my grandma just cackled and said good, my great grandma will pull me by my legs at night if I keep behaving like that. Years later my grandma would tell me that once she dies, she will pull me by my legs if she needs to correct me. God I miss her so much. I did feel her nails on my arm randomly inside a server room on her death anniversary. At least I hope it was her.

They all have told me the shit they experienced at that home years later. It was never malicious, it was just an active place.

DISCLAIMER: very long post due to multiple experiences told. I need to post these experiences somewhere as I can not stop thinking about them

I used to work as a live in support worker for a young boy with learning disabilities, he needed 2-1 support 24/7. Shifts were 2 days on, 2 days off. Every door in this home apart from the kitchen, staff bedrooms and bathrooms had an alarm on them for this boys safety so we staff could be alerted should he have risen in the night and for many other reasons.

To set the scene this is a grand old georgian home in a very historic area of Liverpool. These homes were built late 1700’s.

BEGINNING- One shift, whilst the boy was in school, me and my manager were in the home alone. The kitchen of the home was located in the basement, where there was an open plan living room attracted to the kitchen. Above our heads was the ground floor level/street level. we were making lunch, and we were directly beneath the hallway leading into the home from the front door, suddenly above us we heard loudest thundering noise along the hall, as though somebody was sprinting along the hallway from the front door. We both instantly looked at eachother in horror as it honestly sounded like a break in, so my manager E ran to the kitchen door and flung it open, it led directly onto stairs leading up, he immediately shouted ‘Hello?!’ as we truly thought it was a break in. Split second later we heard the door alarm go off into a room located at the end of the hallway. We freaked out and ran upstairs to confront whoever had came into the home, yet to our horror but also comfort, there was nobody there. We searched every inch of that house to make sure no body other than ourselves were there, and not a single person was. My manager was visibly shaken, and seeing that fear on his face of the unexplained solidified how undeniable that was. We tried to go about eating our lunch but both of us had such an uneasy feeling we couldn’t stomach it. He turned to me and stated ‘I am a sceptic, but there is no way I can explain that’, and I agreed. Neither of us were the same for the rest of the day, we couldn’t shake the feeling of horror and unease that it caused.

The second experience comes from the same home and isn’t as long. Due to the nature of the job and the fact the child we cared for slept through the night, staff had approval from Social to always do sleep shifts, so we always did. We would clock off at 22:00 and wake at 6:00am before the child, but as stated he has alarms on his door to alert us should he have risen through the night and left his room. Anyway, I came onto shift one morning and I was met with a senior from another site who covered a shift for our other RSW white in the face talking to our sites senior, they had been on shift that night. The first thing she said to me was ‘Do you hear the voices in the room at night too?!!’ and I was shocked, I thought I had been paranoid as I would always here mumbling and shuffling in my room, especially around 5am when my alarms would go off but I’d lie in bed snoozing it. I told her I did, and she said she had never experienced anything like it. I hadn’t told a soul at that point about hearing these voices, so for her to say that to me I knew she was being serious.

Our other senior C told me a story of a time he and our other RSW J were sitting in the living room one night after the boy went to bed, waiting for 22:00 to roll by, and they heard the same thundering sound of footsteps running coming down the stairs from the ground floor, but no body entered the kitchen. C shot up in a panic, thinking it to be a break in due to how loud these footsteps were running. He scoped the house and went to check on the boy immediately, who was fast asleep in his bed on the very top floor, no alarms alerted and we had a sound box in every staff room and the kitchens and living roomso it couldn’t have been him. J was so freaked out as was C. This happened to C many times, the sounds of people running and walking about the house happened to us all, constantly, every shift day or night.

This experienced happened to another of our seniors, L, who slept in the senior bedroom on the boys level on the very top floor of the house. He was awoken one night at 3 am to the sound of someone running around the house, so he ran out of his room to find the boy was still fast asleep, in his bedroom, door was shut, no alarms had sounded. So he called our RSW J, who didn’t answer, he searched around the ground floor and the basement to see if anybody was up and about, but nobody was. He had to see if it was J, so he called her once more and knocked on the staff bedroom door, she answered the phone having just been fast asleep and told him it was not her, she had been sleeping since 23:30. This happened to him almost every shift, he learned to ignore it but still couldn’t explain.

Last experience I will talk about even tho there are many more, every night as I lay in bed in the staff room on the ground floor, I heard what sounded like wooden wheels squeaking on the cobble stone, outside on the street. Every night, I would check and there would be nothing there. It was so loud that my boyfriend heard it whilst we were facetiming one night, and I told him I hear it at the same time each night.

We never got scary vibes from this house, just the vibes that whomever had lived and worked there all those years ago, still did, and we would talk agreements aloud to the ghosts and spirits that if they stayed on their side, we would stay on ours. We all agreed it felt like we were not supposed to be there, and that we were in someone’s space.

Whilst not the most scary haunting experience, they’re certainly the truest and most undeniable experiences any of us had ever encountered around the paranormal. If you made it this far thank you, I am truly sorry about this novel of a post, but all experiences stand out. This isn’t all of them however, so if you have any questions do ask.

We live in England. This happened 8 years ago when we first bought an old, 200 year old, shoe factory turned business centre. We were nervous as it's the first time we did something like this. My husband spent a lot of time there to make sure the building would be perfect. One evening, as he was wrapping up, a young, very skinny boy, around 12, came to him. This boy dressed in Victorian manner, with his little flat cap, just looked at him. They stayed like like for a good moment, then the boy just disappeared.

Also, thy boys only had the top half of his body. No legs.

It comforts me to know someone is looking after this place even when we're not there.

I was photographing my friend last night and everything was going fine until this image showed up on the screen. It wasn't there for most of the shoot, but as soon as it appeared my flash started going off by itself. I've shot hundreds of photos with my flashes and I have never had them go off by themselves as the only way to trigger them is via the camera or by pressing a button on the flash itself*. My friend and I decided to leave immediately after seeing the flash go off by itself a few times.

When we got home, I showed him the video embedded in this post. Given the nature of the shoot, I thought it was a demon, but I'm not well-versed in demons at all. Could this be something like that? I wish I got video of the flash triggering by itself. I'm going to go back and finish the shoot soon so if it goes off by itself again I will record it.

I feel like it is important to mention that I was intentionally trying to create a visual representation of demons, which is why I was so scared. My version of the demons looked different, though. They looked like this, not like what you see in the video, which is why you see the black bodysuit and then the image of whatever shows up on camera.

*Technically you can also set flashes to master/slave mode and activate a flash with another flash, but we only had one flash out there so we weren't using that.

So a lot of this is very hazy as I was so young at the time, but the core encounter will always stick with me. I know that I was only five as this was verified by my parents as they were both present when I had my sighting. So it was the spring or summer of 1988. My older cousin was staying with my family. She was about sixteen or so and a very troubled young woman. She would get into frequent fights with her mother ( my aunt) and would routinely stay over my family's house until things blew over.

During one afternoon, I remember I was in the backyard with my parents. I went back inside the house to grab a drink from the fridge. While I was doing so, I remember hearing a distinctly male voice coming from the porch at the front of the house. Being a naturally curious kid, I walked over to see who it was that was talking as there were no other men in the house besides my dad, who was still in the back yard.

I walked over and looked out the screen door to see my cousin sitting on the front stairs. All I could see was the back of her head as she was primarily facing the street. This is when I heard the gruff sounding male voice again. My cousin turned her face ever so slightly and her profile came into view. I swear to this day, I will never forget what I saw next. The face I saw was definitely not that of my cousin. It was a sickly pale color, with swollen lips and a featureless black eye with no pupil. I only saw it for a split second, but I was so freaked out that I immediately ran back through the house and outside where my parents frantically tried to figure out what was wrong and why I had been so frightened.

My cousin only stayed a few more nights and I refused to go near her. Later on, when my dad was cleaning out the basement, he discovered some of my cousins drawings, keep in mind, she was a very talented artist. The drawings depicted people burning in some kind of pit. My cousin later admitted that she had been heavily into occult witchcraft at the time.

Back in December 2017 I was just 18 years old at the time, but I saw something that would change my life forever. I lived with my mom, step-dad and 3 other siblings at the time. I drove a gray Chevy Silverado and was having fun burning through my savings from my summer job on gas and grass, if you catch my drift. My parents were becoming more strict on me for smoking in my truck but I was "an adult" as I told them and can make choices for myself. They started locking the door to the house at 10pm as a result and on nights like those I would sleep in my truck. On the night of the encounter, I found myself locked out and spending the night in the truck. The date was Sunday the 17th and it was a new moon that night, slightly cloudy but otherwise clear weather. It was 20°F or something, and decided it would be better to hit up one of my buddies to stay warmer and have some company for the night. I hit up my friend "J" and he was relieved I called because he was also kicked out of his house, so I went to pick him up. We drove around for a bit and explained our crappy situations then I asked if he had anything to smoke cause I was out. He had more than we could burn in one sitting but little did I know what we were in for that night. It was closer to 12am now and I drove us to the base of a mountain near the outskirts of town. We lit up a few bowls and I was ready to pass out. I had just shut my eyes for 5 minutes when J woke me up. "Hey man I don't think we should park here, I feel like we're being watched." "Nobody is around dude, we'll be alright." I replied "Besides all the bears are hibernating or whatever so we're good." J still was trippin and had a scared look on his face "C'mon man let's just drive around then." I still wanted to stay by the mountain but J was persistent about leaving and now I began to feel watched too, so I started driving closer to town. I knew a spot right off the highway on a road that leads to a few gravel fields. We would be safe for the night and nobody would bother us - or so I thought... We drove down the snowy road and the snow seemed to get deeper ahead so I stopped in my tracks and threw the shifter into park. I was real tired by this point and stoned too so I told him I'm gonna pass out. I turned off the truck and told him to start it if he gets cold as I dropped the keys into the cup holder between us. I had closed my eyes for a few minutes and wasn't sleeping yet, but I had that same feeling again, like eyes were looking at me. This time I felt as if I could pinpoint where they were watching from. With my eyes closed, I positioned my gaze to the direction perception. I slowly cracked my eyes open and when my vision adjusted to the darkness outside, my reality was flipped upside down. It was so cold the ice crystals looked frozen mid-air in the dim moonlight. I remember blinking hard to check if I was actually seeing what I was looking at. It looked like a humanoid creature, darker than the surrounding bushes. It was hunching behind a bush trying to remain hidden. My breath became shallow and heart began to beat quicker. I became speechless as the blood drained from my face. I looked at J, only moving my eyes, and he was like a pale statue. His attention was fixed on the creature which was 50 feet in front of the truck on the passenger side. J didn't know I was awake yet but once I knew he saw it, I had to keep looking too. My eyes returned to the creature just as it started moving towards us, crawling on all fours. It seemed very large and skinny, maybe even emaciated. It was naked and the damned thing was hindged in the middle of the torso as well as at the hips, the long arms and fingers reached forward as it moved deliberately towards us. It was so close to the truck, maybe 15 feet, now in view from the passenger window. The tall creature paused and stooped its head to look at each of us with a devilish grin. We were rendered frozen with fear. The creature then continued it's cryptic movements towards the back of the vehicle just out of my sight. It was at this moment when I felt J grab my forearm resting on the center console. I think he was trying to wake me up, not realizing I had seen everything that just happened. He was still watching it move, looking from his passenger door mirror until it was out of his view. Just as we turned to look at each other we could see the creature now coming towards the bed of the truck directly behind us. I quickly faced forward as it climbed into the truck bed, my body turned into a cold statue with my eyes fixed to the rear view mirror. J watched the whole endeavor facing the rear window and the creature itself. The thin arms reached outward as the hands clasped the top of the bed rails on each side. Its long fingers wrapped into the wheel wells as it gripped the truck bed. The left foot softly set down first as it's weight then followed, along with the right foot stepping in after. My truck suspension bottomed out as the creature sat on the tailgate. J's grasp on my forearm turned to a death grip as we watched the abdomen flexing its strong muscles, bending toward us. It was lowering it's head toward the rear window, and just when I thought it couldn't get worse - It popped it's face into view! There were 3 flashes each one more powerful than the last, like an EMP went off. All the lights on the vehicle blinked 3 times within a couple seconds, the third flash being so bright I thought my bulbs would burst. My eyes were watching the light flash onto the humanoid face, revealing unsettling details. It had a malevolent Joker-like grin with long creases on each side of the the dry lips. The many teeth were mostly broken and jutting out randomly from rotting gums, with grotesque cuts in between teeth. It's nose looked like it had frost bitten, broke off then dried up small. The piercing eyes had sunken under its pronounced brow line. They were human-like enlarged yellow eyes with a dark iris, and had many bulging enlarged red veins going to the pupils. The many bloodshot veins almost seemed to make the eyes glow red with fury. It was hairless and the skin looked leathery and blackened from frostbite. It felt like the devil himself was looking into my truck, J was looking directly back at it. At this point we finally broke free of our frozen fear state and began to both yell LOUDLY. We both were saying "WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK!" as I ripped my forearm from his grip and stumbled for my keys. The truck then jolted and shook violently as the creature jumped towards the willows on the driver side of the truck. I put the key in the ignition and turned it but it was completely dead. The dashboard wouldn't even light up or no chime sound was heard. I clicked the key back and forth, still nothing. I closed my eyes and prayed "God if you're here please help my truck start." and as I turned the key it miraculously started and the engine roared awake. Once the truck was on my brain was trying to convince me "It was a bear! You're not crazy! It's not real! It's a bear!" I was trying to clutch onto my broken reality. Behind my front seats I had a bench seat with my .308 ruger scout and a spotlight sitting on top. My truck gun made me feel safe but I couldn't shoot because I was within city limits and would wake up half the dang town if I did, so I got the spotlight. I had to see it again. As soon as I got the light J was saying "No no no nonono..." but I exclaimed that I had to see it. I scanned the bottom of the bushline to look for a bear. My brain crucially needed to see a bear. As I scanned with the beam of my Max Million spotlight it passed the bottom of the humanoid cryptid. I paused before returning the beam to the creature. "Did you see that?" I said to J "Yeah, let's go!" he yelled back in horror "I'm gonna go back to it okay." I brought the light back to the legs and lower torso. The long slender legs stretched high to narrow hips with no genetals in between, just a smooth bump. The long fingers were pointed and hung limp below the knees. The blackness of the skin reflected the yellow beam of the spotlight back to us showing much definition of strong muscle structure. "you looking J?" I said "yeah what the fuck let's go!" he replied It almost seemed like it wanted us to see it again. I slowly brought the beam up the long torso viewing it's thin cadaverous structure. It had many pronounced abdomen muscles and stood tall next to a specific branch about a foot taller than itself. I then brought the beam up to its face and that's when my heart dropped to my stomach. The whole time the beam wasn't affecting it's vision. It was looking directly into my eyes the whole time and when our eyes met it locked it's gaze and took 3 steps backwards disappearing into darkness. Instantly I floored the gas pedal only to remember the road was snowed in ahead and now the snow as deep as the wheels. I let off the throttle and cranked the wheel as fast as I could, then I pinned the gas again for a sharp U turn, peeling out in the snow. I found myself to be praying not to get stuck as we pulled this maneuver, realizing we could have gotten stuck. We got out of there and drove around until first light. Weirdly I took us back to the spot of the sighting and smoked a bunch and we replayed the scenario over and over talking over every detail to each other until we became sleepy. We passed out and left the wee...
