Hey all.

I got Mullvad yesterday, but whenever I try to connect to a different server, it says "Network traffic might be leaking/Unable to Block all Network Traffic", and recommends that I disable firewalls.

However, even when I disable firewalls, it still won't allow me to log in.

At other times it gives me a slightly different error: "Unable to apply firewall rules".

I literally used Mullvad last month with no such issues, and I've used it quite a few times in the past. What is going on?

PS: Please note I am a complete noob when it comes to any kind of technical stuff regarding VPNs

EDIT: NEVER MIND. I just uninstalled Norton 360 (which had been installed automatically btw) and it fixed itself. It's all good now!

There are six servers in my country, three different providers. Which one do I choose? How do I know when to change it? Thank you.

Unable to install the latest app version (2025.7) on Win10 Pro. After downloading clicked 'Install Mullvad VPN.exe'. "Try again" with same result. See image. Anyone seen this before? Workaround/solution?

I know that Mullvad is not a streaming focus service, more like a privacy focused service. But while it can't unblock Disney Plus, for me ir sometimes work's on unblocking some content on Netflix. My question is should I enable DAiITA, Quantum resistance and Multihop or are these settings to easy for Netflix to detect?

I've recently changed over from Plex to Jellyfin due to my issues with the recent changes, I've set up remote access with DuckDNS basically according to this tutorial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEyhpuWeiTk

I have a small Windows 11 Pro server with an Intel i5 and a few HDD's hosting my video library to a couple family members.

It's been working fine for the past month as soon as I turn on my Mullvad VPN the Jellyfin server isn't accessible, I tried adding it as an exception under the Mullvad Split Tunneling exclusion list but it doesn't seem to fix the issue like how it fixed it for Plex.

Adding Jellyfin, Jellyfin.Windows.Tray, DuckDns, Caddy, and The non-sucking service manager didn't seem to do the trick either.

While I'm quite quite tech savvy I've been struggling to solve this issue on the same PC, I tried setting up Jellyfin in Docker to hopefully exclude Docker but that has been causing more problems then it has solved for me. I like running all these apps in a standard Windows OS as I can just leave it to run 24/7 as well as other tasks that are Windows compatible.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Does mullvad have a list that I can use to whitelist mullvad IP addresses? I tried the BGP ASN but it only gave me two /24s.

I am blocking all VPN providers, but I want to whitelist mullvad. I am using OPNsense and I would prefer an IP list so that I can create an alias for it.

So my employer blocks tailscale but not mullvad. Is it possible somehow to connect to tailscale but wrap that connection in mullvad to avoid the block? I want to connect to my home network during breaks.

What's the best practice for joining public wifi that uses a captive portal? Having my VPN on seems to throw a wrench in the whole process and I inevitably start an endless loop of turning wifi on and off, the VPN on and off, and switching browsers to trick the portal into returning. Is the way around this really to start with the VPN off every time? That's fine on desktop, but sucks on mobile. In my experience, the VPN toggle in iOS Is unreliable and the VPN status icon isn't always visible in the Status Bar.

I am using Usenet with Sonarr and Radarr but since last weekend whenever Mullvad is on, it blocks access to the Indexers. Which means I can't find or download anything. If I use a different VPN, I have no issue. It seems to only block the indexers because I can access anything else per normal when Mullvad is on. Does anyone else have the same issue?

Hello, I just downloaded Mullvad today, and it was connecting without issue at my friend's house. Now that I'm back at my place, it won't connect to any server. I am not sure what is causing the issue, and this is my first VPN, so my knowledge is limited. I included a screenshot, but if more context is required, I'm happy to provide it. Thank you for any input or suggestions.

When I run a DNS and IP leak test, it shows up as Tzulo. Is that expected or am I leaking?

On my PC, I can access essentially any website I want thanks to Mullvad and Shadowsocks. I've even tested this with some Chinese sites, which used to not load presumably due to VPN usage, which is officially banned over there.

However, on all my devices including my PC (note: I am using Firefox) the Reuters website specifically continues to have issues. When I try to enter, I get a page saying "Access denied"; no error code or anything specific, just that and the message "Our apologies, the content you requested cannot be accessed.". Considering how some companies/sites are about VPN usage, with that being the only issue I really ever face on the internet, I am guessing that this may be the reason.

But I also have not found anything when searching for this issue, with the only even somewhat recent Reddit post coming to the conclusion that one of their two adblock extensions had supposedly been the cause of this. I have several privacy-focused extensions, but they have never caused such issues, and disabling the major ones (UBlock and NoScript) doesn't fix the issue.

Does anyone else experience this issue with Reuters? Or has anyone perhaps solved this issue before, and can give me advice on how to fix it?

Situation:

  • MullvadVPN client on Linux.
  • Multiple VLANs on 192.168.0.0/16 (192.168.1.0/24, 192.168.2.0/24, etc.)
  • local network sharing turned on in MullvadVPN client

Is there any way I can configure my network settings to allow access to another VLAN when connected? I see with traceroute that the issue is I'm using an IP address on Mullvad's network as a gateway. I understand this is how things are supposed to work. I'm just wondering if there is a workaround with wireguard.

PS: I realize that this is potentially a security nightmare, as I am essentially asking if I can access my home gateway for specific routes, ignoring the VPN tunnel for those requests. I just want to know what my options are.

Going to China tomorrow for a month. Should I get mullvad? Saw lots of posts saying it works while others said it doesn’t. Anyone in China right now?

I've been using userChrome and userContent themes for a while now with all the firefox forks I use. Does Mullvad have any dedicated ones that are good?

I've used the same firewall through xp, 7 and now 10. It lets me block ips, ip ranges, exes, dlls and is light-wieght, stand-alone and doesn't add a 'suite' of 'features'...it's just a firewall.

But, It doesn't let Wireguard work. I have to switch it to 'Allow Traffic' and Wireguard connects instantly. Haven't discovered any way to configure it that allows Wireguard to connect (and I know this firewall pretty well after all these years).

So I need a new one since Mullvad is sunsetting OpenVPN and Wireguard will be our only choice. A majority of firewalls out there use the Windows API (WFP filters) or just act as a 'front-end' to Windows Firewall. There are a few that 'roll their own' API and get away from dependence on Windows, but most of those have become bloated 'suites' of subscription services, not what i'm looking for.

Simplewall and TinyFirewall are both no longer maintained and I have no idea if they'll let Wireguard work.

Fort Firewall requires us to redirect DNS on Mullvad and Windows networking to localhost and admits Wireguard is 'iffy', if it works at all.

So what's my options? Anybody know a firewall that's not Windows that works for Wireguard?

I had an important question when updating the Mullvad VPN app does your IP address get leaked or does it automatically kill your network connection because I had that case I’m pretty sure all my applications wouldn’t respond to a network connection and I’m pretty sure Mullvad did that when updating but I’m not sure if anyone hasn’t answered that would be great thank you.

It just doesn't make sense to me why the GPG key would be there on the same page with a the update with a signature which is gonna obviously match...

I couldn't even validate the signature.

What's the logic...am I missing something?

thing is that mullvad is no longer just a vpn company and expansion in other products such as search (earlier this was only for paid users) and browser (defaults to mullvad search) has caused it become what they might not want to become! remember those ram only servers and cache only for temp period? well, a server is a server and it has to store files (dumb down version) and whether stored in ram or disks, the data remains alive. mullvad now has more of such user cached data with them and this could lead to more attack surfaces. not only a user (theory) can leave behind more traces with this combination but those who are not paid users, also gonna leave huge chunk of data (including default logs/downloads/pings/updates/installs) with mullvad.

mullvad is on a strange path here and not sure if this is the "way" for it!
